Missing Person?

Life teaches, we rather cake foundation on imperfections, than face the reality of who we truly are.

Us gamers live thousands of hours in fantasies. From “Among US” searching for the imposter to being deceptive as the imposter. How about “God of War” screaming “This Is Sparta” as I kick enemies into the abyss.

Each with their own unique “Mwuhahahaha” moments there is still one problem, there is always the Almighty. No matter how many years you hone your skills, defeat is inevitable!

Simple phrases like “Don’t make me come in there!” or “That’s enough tablet!” my favorite as an adult “F*** around and find out!” All reminders I took the red pill.

Heading into spring, I just acquired two new tenants. Both presented themselves as respectable young women, needing a safe place to live. Within the first few months one made it very clear, this roller-coaster was not for theme parks, not even Six Flags.

Rent was constantly always late. The common excuses, “I get paid on Friday”, somebody got sick or there is a search for a problem to discount rent. The apartment was freshly remodeled, so I was safe there. If only I used my “ESPN” to predict the future. Would I fire myself?

Ultimately, no rent was paid for several months. I suggested Rental assistance as it made sense at the time. I figured at least I would get rent and dealing with the personality would be manageable. After months of nothing, an eviction notice was issued. This was the moment of realization, Johnny Depp and I, were soldiers of the same struggle.

Flowers were pulled up; trash was everywhere and even the solar yard lights felt the wrath! I really loved those things. A restraining order was put in place. For the safety of my children and I.

To file an eviction, there was a fee. For the sheriff’s assistance, there was a fee. To even park in front of the courthouse, Fee!

After weeks of filing paperwork. Finally! Court has arrived. She decided to make an appearance on our third court date. After missing the first two. She explains to the judge, she was approved for assistance and has all the rent owed. Then proceeded to state, I just never asked. The look the judge gave, Priceless. To collect rent, or even complete the eviction had been a “mission impossible”.

Now, days later, her neighboring tenant, complains about smelling gas. Did not take long to find the source. In her last fit of rage. All the knobs on the stove were opened and broken off. The tub spout was left running, so the apartment was flooded. Walls, ceiling and kitchen cabinets destroyed.

The fire department, Gas technician, and building inspector all gave their sympathies as they asses the damages.

Thousands in unpaid rent. More thousands in damages, but hey! She is FINALLY GONE! After all the L’s this feels like a W.

Mistakes were made, my character was challenged, and the skilled points earned helps on my journey to expert.

Thanks for reading
